Hey people, I know not very many of you have read my Bloodstorm 1 story, but even if you haven;t you can still read the second story, though I think the character development will be lacking if people don't read the first story. It's featured here on deviantart in my journal and also on freestoriescenter.com. Anyway, The Title is Bloodstorm 2: Battle For the International Championship, which is too long for the title section of the journal. Anyway, for those who appreciate my work, here is my character list, as well as my prologue to the story. Just for reference, the characters all have the same age because this story takes place three months after the first one, this one is placed sometime in mid-August whereas the other one ended mid-May.

Name: Andre Ratchford

Age: 19

Elemental Power: Crimson Flame

After fighting Sasuke with Deonta, Andre worked to learn how to supress his dark intentions, and the corruption of the Crimson Flame itself. Through the perseverance of himself and Deonta, they have developed new techniques which they are the only ones to use, developed after reading about the fighting style of a Heroic Wolf. After the Sasuke battle, Andre has become known as the “Ferocious Panther”.


Deonta

Name: Deonta Robinson

Age: 18

Elemental Power: Demonic Ice

With Sasuke defeated, and the awakening of his own light energy, Deonta has questions about himself, and how he came to have that ability. He trained with Andre to develop a new fighting style, based on quick, but powerful combinations. With the Demonic Ice no longer in control of him, Deonta is able to better understand what his limits are and how to avoid being pulled back in that direction. Shortly after his battle Sasuke, Deonta gained the nickname “Raging Wolf”.


Diamion

Name: Diamion Ratchford

Age: 30

Elemental Power: Steel Earth

Being the eldest and closest to being the next master in his family, Diamion is easily a fan favorite for winning the tournament, but he is still weary of the fact that his mother is in the tournament as well as being excited about having a chance to face off with his younger brother and his new skills.


Dre

Name: Andre Foster

Age: 29

Elemental Power: Swarming Water

Dre still recalls the events of the incident with Andre and Deonta, and is cautious of it happening again, but still looks forward to the tournament, hoping to be able to surprise people with the development of his moves.


Adrian

Name: Adrian Ratchford

Age: 28

Elemental Power: Scorching Lightning

Adrian's days of being the family trouble maker being behind him, he's focused on coming into the tournament to win it. He plans on holding nothing back, and is looking forward to fighting his either of his brother's or sister, though he'd prefer to avoid a battle with his mother if he could.


Rasheed

Name: Rasheed

Age: 26

Elemental Power: Slicing Wind

Rasheed has used his time to train of the tournament wisely, knowing that he will shock a lot of people with his newly developed moves, as well as some innovations on previous attacks. Though he's not worried about where he ranks in this particualr tournament, he feels like he'll do very well.


Jazz

Name: Jasmine Ratchford

Age: 26

Elemental Power: Silent Water

During Andre and Deonta's battle with Sasuke, Jazz was away on a training journey to develop her attacks for the tournament, and has done a spectacular job. People have be speculating that she would quite possibly take her mother out of the tournament early on. Jazz even had the time to create some moves of her own that her brothers don't share with her.


Jamie

Name: Jamie Reidhart

Age: 24

Elemental Power: White Lightning

Jamie is a newcomer, though there have been great this said about her, her fighting experience is lacking compared to her peers in this tournament, though still, she has the potential to be a huge threat in the tournament, causing Iris Ratchford to keep a close eye on her. She also wants to be trained by Iris.


Jenny

Name: Jeneba Miller-Dyer

Age: 17

Elemental Power: Radiant Ice

Jenny happily entered this tournament knowing that Andre and Deonta were going to be participating, hoping to be able to beat both of them in the tournament to prove herself to be better than them. Though, she still has thoughts about when Andre lost control of his power, and stays prepared for the possibility that she'd have to stop him.


Elzoria

Name: Elzoria P.

Age: 18

Elemental Power: Royal Water

Elzoria is still a bit shaken over the incident dealing with Sasuke, but luckily everyone survived that battle with him due to Iris saving them with her power before their injuries could become too much for their bodies. She's in the tournament so that she can prove that she's gotten stronger, and to rematch and beat Crystal.


Iris

Name: Iris Ratchford

Age: 49

Elemental Power: Divine Light

Iris, the current Champion of the Bloodstorm Tournament, she's come to the tournament with a prediction, but hasn't told anyone what that prediction was. Tournament sponsors tried their best to fish the info out of her, but all she left with was this, “rogression is the key to this tournament, you'll understand what I mean when we get into the later rounds.”


Patricia

Name: Patricia A.

Age: 26

Elemental Power: Still Wind

Patricia is now Diamion's ex-girlfriend due to some unexplained transgressions on her part. She's truly in this tournament looking for her rematch with Crystal, hoping to be able to prove that she isn't as weak as she was before.


Crystal

Name: Crystal Lloyd

Age: 19

Elemental Power: Brave Earth

After her fight with Diamion, Crystal immediately began training to fight Andre. Shortly after that training started though, Crystal fought Deonta lost himself in his power with her sister Erika, and Sasuke along with others when she heard of how he harmed her sister, an incident which nearly claimed her life. Once Crystal recovered and learned that Sasuke was killed, she resumed training to fight Andre.


Erika:

Name: Erika Lloyd

Age: 16

Elemental Power: Bright Lightning

Erika having fully recovered from being put in a hospital bed by Sasuke, joined in the tournament when she found out that Deonta would be participating. She's even made her "Raikou Shinjou" technique stronger, hoping that with it, she could defeat him and garner some attention.


Richie

Name: Richard Miller-Dyer

Age: 12

Elemental Power: Sapphire Flame

After his own encounter with Sasuke, and nearly being killed until Erika save him and his brother Rodney, Richie has increased the intensity of his training to make himself more prepared incase a situation like that should ever happen again. He awakened his potential, but doesn't yet know how to control it at will.


Rodney:

Name: Rodney Miller-Dyer

Age: 11

Elemental Power: Ruby Lightning

Rodney along with Richie, has diligently trained to become much stronger than he was before. After their battle with Sasuke, Rodney felt that they were still lacking, even though they unlocked their hidden potential. He wants to learn how to control his power on his own.


Jack

Name: Jack Shibara

Age: 22

Elemental Power: Blaze Flame

After having a sparring match with Andre, Jack realized that he still had a long way to go if he wanted to defeat Diamion, so he spent as much time as he could training and honing his skills, sharpening his technique, and quickening his attacks. Though he wants to take Diamion on, Jack is also looking forward to the chance at a rematch with Andre, given his name fame.


Mitchell

Name: Mitchell Roswell

Age: 22

Elemental Power: None

Mitchell doesn't believe in the power of the Ratchford Family or their friends, and wnts to prove to the world that they aren't as great of fighters as the world believes. He plans on taking them all down, and claiming the World Title to show he is the best.


Jean

Name: Jean Delargo

Age: 23

Elemental Power: None

Jean heard the news of Sasuke being killed by Adrian's younger brother Andre and his friend, so he entered the tournament solely to show off his skills, and hopefully to become Champion. Though there is something in him that is just nagging him, telling him that Sasuke isn't dead.


Chizuka

Name: Chizuka Nami

Age: 22

Elemental Power: None

Chizuka is a former member of the extinct Lejinwu, once lead by Ibuki Kazuka, she entered the tournament in order to have a rematch with Andre, but she feels a disturbing force of energy, which concerns her about his well being.


Rose

Name: Rose Arrow

Age: 22

Elemental Power: None

Rose was the first female and only woman to defeat Andre in and actual battle. She join the Lejinwu a few years later, and was defeated by Andre to recover his family. No longer a member of the dead rogue group, Rose entered the tournament looking to break the tie.


Cherry

Name: Chelsea Goddard

Age: 20

Elemental Power: Gale Ice

Cherry heard of Crystal after her battle Diamion, and wants to test her skill against her, hoping to defeat her, and be recognized as a top level fighter, if she runs into her in the tournament that is.


Trevan

Name: Trevan Lynn

Age: 20

Elemental Power: Abyss Flame

Trevan was nearly killed twice in his last two fights, but his resilency has kept him alive, and he's still out for Andre's blood. His sole purpose for being in this tournment is to kill Andre, he doesn't care about winning the tournament, fueling his grudge against him.


Tao Lee

Name: Tao Lee

Age: 40

Elemental Power: None

Tao Lee, former known as General Lee, an ex-member of the Lejinwu along with his two daughters Kogome and Kikyo. Tao has entered the tournament due to a rumor that Ibuki Kazuka was alive and entered the tournament.


Kikyo

Name: Kikyo Lee

Age: 21

Elemental Power: Dragon Flame

Kikyo, a former Lejinwu, has entered the tournament with hopes of being able to fight either Andre or Deonta, and to take the chance at winning the Championship. She has trained for this moment since her defeat at the former Lejinwu base. Her twin sister Kogome has also entered, they have earned the name “Dragon Sisters” of which she is the first.


Kogome

Name: Kogome Lee

Age: 21

Elemental Power: Dragon Ice

The second of the “Dragon Sisters”, Kogome's ice powers rival that of Deonta's, whom she hopes to have a bout with, or his friend Andre. She looks at being a part of the Lejinwu as being the low part of her fighting career, and looks to redeem herself in this tournament. Her twin sister Kikyo entered into the tournament as well.


Anita

Name: Anita Devel

Age: 26

Elemental Power: Soul Ice

Anita is a former Lejinwu member, who now is looking for people for her own cause. She has a deep seated hatred toward Jazz for leaving a scar on her left cheek in the shape of a Crescent Moon, just before other Lejinwu members could detain her. Anita wants nothing more than to destroy Jazz.


Ricky

Name: Ricky Shara

Age: 20

Elemental Power: Great Light

Ricky is an old friend and rival of Crystal's. She has yet to beat her in an actual match, and plans to change that in this tournament. Ricky's power is on par with Crystal, and her techniques are nearly as deadly as Iris herself.


Mosuke

Name: Mosuke Danzo

Age: 14

Elemental Power: None

A boy with a great potential to master any fighting style, and the will of a True Warrior, his closest most arguable rival is his former friend Niko. They are rivals in fighting as well as for the attention of a specific girl, Mikota.


Mikota

Name: Mikota Shozu

Age: 15

Elemental Power: None

Mikota heard of the “Ferocious Panther” and how his fighting skills defeated one of World's top fighters, then instantly became hooked on the idea of studying under him. She knows that he has to apprentices and hopes to defeat them to show that shw would be worthy of his training. She also is in the middle of a competition between Mosuke and Niko.


David

Name: David Scott

Age: 15

Elemental Power: Diamond Lightning

David heard of Andre and Deonta's feat of beating Sasuke Soshimatsu, and of how great their potential is. David desires to have Andre teach him, knowing that Andre has two students already. He feels that the only way to prove himself is by defeating one or both of Andre's pupils.


Linda

Name: Linda Carrington

Age: 14

Elemental Power: None

Linda is a shy girl with a wonderous potential behind her fists. When she heard of the great skills of the Ratchford family, she decided that she would seek them out to learn, and once again after hearing of Sasuke being defeated by Andre and Deonta, she decided that he would be best suited to be her master.


Michelle

Name: Michelle Rivira

Age: 27

Elemental Power: Swift Wind

Michelle entered the tournament this year with one purpose in mind, to become best fighter in the world. To do so, she knows she has one person to defeat, Iris Ratchford. She also wants to take on her daughter Jasmine Ratchford.


Shane

Name: Shane Landry

Age: 26

Elemental Power: Hard Wind

Shane entered into this tournament ready to fight, and wants to defeat Iris Ratchford, and any other competitors for that title. She's not one to hold back he techniques, and isn't afraid to battle opponents who seem too strong for her.


Deangelo

Name: Deangelo Gomes

Age: 18

Elemental Power: Guiding Light

Deangelo heard of the battle that Andre and Deonta had with Sasuke Soshimatsu, during that time, he was already training to be in the World Tournament, but he was surprised that they were so close to his age. They inspired him to try harder to reach his goals, and he wants to battle them.


Ibuki

Name: Ibuki Kazuka

Age: 31

Elemental Power: Concrete Darkness

Ibuki is back to rebuild her broken Lejinwu, which Andre, Deonta, jenny, Diamion, Dre, and Rasheed destroyed 7 months back. She plans on getting revenge against them all for ruining all of her work.


Daniel

Name: Daniel Blake

Age: 21

Elemental Power: None

Daniel heard of how strong Andre Ratchford was, and decided that he would enter into the World Tournament to beat him. He has lots of strength, but little skill, his moves are all self taught.


Beth

Name: Beth

Age: 16

Elemental Power: Mirror Water

Beth is Andre's “Little Sister”, though they aren't actually related. She was just a very good friend to him in a time of need, and he was the same for her. She uses magic along with her elemental attacks for more damage.


Donna

Name: Donna

Age: 18

Elemental Power: Eternal Darkness

Donna is one of the few people in the world who has dark power but isn't corrupted by it. She learned at an early age how to control it. She's also read about the Angelic and Accursed Elements, and is looking forward to fighting Elzoria.


Ron

Name: Ronald Danfield

Age: 13

Elemental Power: Tidal Water

Ron is a hot-headed fighter who runs in head first to a battle. He wants to show off his skills and test himself in this year's tournament.


Roland

Name: Roland Jacobs

Age: 13

Elemental Power: Solid Earth

Roland is a calm, collective young fighter who takes his time and studies his enemy. He entered the tournament along with Ron in order to test himself against the best.


Shino

Name: Shino Raizeke

Age: 34

Elemental Power: None

Shino is new to the tournament, he's actually new to the fighting scene period. He uses dirty tactics in order to win his battles, and isn't afraid to kill someone if it meant him winning a fight. He's displayed ruthless hatred and cunning against his opponents.


Niko

Name: Niko Sashima

Age: 15

Elemental Power: Empty Darkness

Niko is Mosuke's main rival, and former friend. The two can no longer stand each other, and are both trying to gain the affections of young Miokta. Niko is slowly slipping into the darnkess.


Raymond

Name: Raymond Jenkins

Age: 25

Elemental Power: None

Raymond fought Andre a short time before his second encounter with Sasuke. Andre helped him reform his ways, and he now seeks to respect him by entering in the tournament, maybe to have a chance to fight him again.


Huck

Name: Charles Melro

Age: 23

Elemental Power: Violent Darkness

With Sasuke gone, and nothing going on in his life at the moment he entered the tournament, part of him wants to face Andre again, hoping to take him down this time.


Eddy

Name: Edward Salchio

Age: 22

Elemental Power: Violent Darkness

Eddy joined Huck in the decision to join the Bloodstorm world tournament, with thoughts of glory and grandure, Eddy quickly signed up, wanting to face and defeat Deonta.

Trina

Name: Trina Bell

Age: 18

Trina wanted to enter the tournament this year, but herself and Andre are expecting a little bundle of joy, so she has to watch from the sidelines this time around. She is very protective of those close to her.


Matthew

Name: Matthew Greg

Age: 10

Matthew is a fan of fighting, and knows almost everything that there is recorded about each of fighters participating in the tournament. He himself plans to one day enter the tournament.


Gerald

Name: Gerald Mason

Age: 25

Gerald is the Tournament Ring Announcer, his charisma and energy alone are enough to keep a crowd excited for hours. He quickly runs out of the way once he yells “FIGHT!”.


Dawn

Name: Dawn Butler

Age: 30

Dawn is one of the senior fight officials, she's officiated thousands of battles, never incorrectly calling one. Her record is just as legendary as the Champion of the Tournament.


Elker

Name: Elkyle Baker

Age: 28

Elker is a junior fight official, he assists Dawn in calling the fights, usually standing a bit farther back than she does because he's not as tough as her. He's overshadowed by Dawn's success.

Prologue:

Nightmares


Approximately three months after Andre and Deonta killed Sasuke, the Bloodstorm Tournament is about to begin. Both young fighters have returned from their training and have made great progress. Andre since being back has had consistent nightmares. He's fighting with his mother in the tournament and defeats her, a strange force comes from out of nowhere tring to kill her, and Andre's inner darkness reawakens at the sight of the attack, absorbing both Andre and the enemy that attacked his mother.

Andre sits up quickly breathing heavily, panting, he looks over and sees that Deonta is knocked out on the couch. He had heavy beads of sweat pouring down his face making him shiver. He places his hand on his face and starts thinking: That dream again. What is it supposed to mean anyway? This reoccuring vision feels as if it's happened before. Does this have anything to do with us killing Sasuke? Is it remorse? I've got to get myself back to sleep, the tournament starts tomorrow, and I'm not losing because I'm too tired to fight.

Andre lays himself back down and goes to sleep. His mind has been troubled sense the night that they defeated Sasuke. Deonta has moved on from the incident pretty easily, but Andre still struggled with it. Even with all of the training they put themselves through, all of the techniques to help with suppression of that power, it still rises to the surface when it comes to Andre. Still wondering how it is that he loses control of his emotions when before he was so easily able to direct them.

That morning Andre and Deonta woke up, got themselves dressed and ate, then headed to the Osaka Expo '70 Stadium in Osaka Japan, the place where the tournament was being held. They could only imagine the number of battles that were fought in this place over the years, especially that fact that Andre's parents had previously fought here, both as Champions and Challengers.


Andre: This is going to be special.


Deonta: Yep, especially since I'm going to knock you out in the finals.


Andre: Come on now Deonta, we'd be lucky to even make it to the finals.


Deonta: No, anyone who is lucky enough to beat one of use before we make it to the finals will lose to the other one.


Andre: Did you forget that my mother is the current Champion of this tournament?


Deonta: No, but I figure that one of us would have to fight her, and hell, I think we can win, with all of the training that we've done the last three months, and the fact that we have these new moves, I don't think that anyone will know what hit them.


Andre: You got me there, I've got a few people to knock off a list, and you're one of them.


Deonta: Yeah, I know, same here, now let's get our asses into the stadium and see who we're up against.


Andre: After you.


Andre and Deonta run into the stadium and hear the loud roar of the screaming fight fans, both felt a bit nervous to be displaying there techniques in front of millions of people, but they knew it was all so that they could be recognized among the best.


Deonta: So “Ferocious Panther,” you ready?


Andre: Yeah “Raging Wolf,” I'm more than ready.


Just then a strange little Japanese man ran by then screaming into a phone loudly at someone.


Andre: Must be talking to one of his employees.


Man: Actually, he's one of my employees. I'm Gerald Mason, the Fight Announcer for this tournament.


They both turn and look at the man with a fair complexion and amazingly bright smile, along with auburn hair.


Deonta: Hold on, you're the Fight Announcer and you have employees here?


Gerald: Well, when you've been calling this fights and getting the crowd going as much as I have, you tend to need some extra people to take up the slack on the things that you can't do.


Deonta: But you're only in your mid-20s, how long have you been an Announcer?


Andre: Since he was 18.


Gerald: I see that you've done your research, I've done my research on you two as well, two of the best fighting prospects seen a very long time. I heard that you went on a training journey the last three months before the tournament, did you learn...better yet I should say, create any new techniques?


Andre: I guess you're more than just an announcer, and far more than a fan.


Deonta: The way you talk, sounds like you are a fighter.


Gerald: At one point I was, and I was much like the two of you, but when I was 18, I fought Sasuke Soshimatsu in an all out brawl. He beat me, but he also caused permanent damage to my legs. I can't be a fighter anymore, he robbed me of that dream. I'm glad that you killed him, he deserved worse than that, but if he's no longer around to break anyone's happiness, then I'm fine with it.


Andre: You say that like we did something righteous, we were only caught up in a fight that we didn't want in the first place.


Deonta: Besides, if you ever wanted to fight again you could, I can tell from your posture that you have rehabilitated your legs fine, the damage he caused you goes far beyond your legs, he hurt your soul.


Gerald: That may be right, but we'll see, maybe I will return to fighting eventually, probably against you, but for now fellas, I have a crowd to announcer for.


Andre: Good luck Gerald, I'll be glad to see you back in fighting one day.


Gerald: Yeah, if it ever happens.


Gerald walks away, into the noise of the stadium, Andre and Deonta hear the other fighters walking toward the entrance down the hall, among them all they saw their friends and family, plus tons of other fighters. Smiling, they turn toward the entrance and start walking. As they clear the entrance way, the fans scream loudly, almost to the point of being able to make someone deaf.

The 64 fighters who all passed the three tests of power, strength, and skill, the tests to qualify to even fight in this tournament. Andre and Deonta were glad to be among the bunch, and were even more happy to be able to show the World on the biggest stage that they were contenders. As the fighters stand together, they line themselves up across the field, nearly half it's length standing shoulder to shoulder. Gerald waves to hush the over excited crowd, claming them quickly with his command.


Gerald: Here we are once again fight fans!!! The 47th Bloodstorm World Tournament is about to commence. Today, we have 64 of the World's best fighters standing side by side, prepared to battle each other until one claims Victory over all others as this year's Champion. Before things get going, we have to introduce our returning Champion, “The Iron Hammer of Light!”, Iris Ratchford!!!!!!


The crowd jumps up screaming for her and her legend as well as her legacy, which stands nearby watching and cheering with the crowd. She steps forward with a smile on her face, showing how happy she is to have so many fans, and how happy she is to be able to stand as their champion.


Gerald: So, we stand here waiting to hear the words that you have for us, please, come and share your wisdom with us Iris!


Iris walks over to Gerald, wearing a completely white outfit, white boots, white pants, a white long sleeved shirt, and a white hat. She grabs the mic from Geralds hand and slightly hugs him, then turns to her crowd. Everyone hushes at her commanding presense, and waits to hear what she has to say.


Iris: Thank you all for being here, for your support, and for your love. It makes me happy to be here today in front of you all. As you all know, I've been the reigning Champion here for 10 years, defeating my husband after his 5 year reign, so the title of Champion has been in the Ratchford name a total of 15 years straight. While I don't know if that is going to happen in this year's tournament, I'm glad that I have been able to represent you well as your Champion, in and outside the arena. As you all know, my children are all here. (She points back at them as she announces their names from eldest to youngest) Diamion, Adrian, Jasmine, Andre, and even I didn't give birth to them, Andre Foster, Rasheed, Jeneba, Richard, and Rodney. They are the legacy that I leave to this tournament, any one of them could win easily, they may even be able to beat me. So before we begin this year's tournament, I'm announcing my retirement, whether I win or lose this year, I will not be a participant again in this tournament. So I'm passing the torch to my children and their friends, I know that they will represent you all well. Thank you all again for so many year's of loyalty and love.


She steps back and the crowd again jumps to their feet screaming as loudly as they could for her, showing their respect and appreciation for the fact that she's put her life on the line so often for them. Iris bows and hands Gerald back the microphone. Gerald then hushes his crowd again, and proceeds to go other the rules.


Gerald: What a Champion we have. Iris Ratchford again ladies and gentlemen. We're glad that you were Champion for such a long run, and we're even more happy to see the legacy that you've left to this tournament. Now I'll explain the rules of this tournament as usual. The number one rule, there are no rules. You are allowed to use whatever you have as a weapon, knives, guns, rocks, whatever, as long as your attacks stay inside the battle arena, anything is allowed. The use of deadly force is allowed, but be warned, it won't reflect well upon you with the crowd. There have been fighter who have died in this arena, some accidentally, others intentionally, so be careful about what you do and protect yourself. The only things we really ask of the fighters is that you not attack the crowd, or our staff, and no fighting in the locker rooms, otherwise you will be kicked out and not allowed to participate.


Andre looked around the crowd for his fiancee, he spotted her in the front row. Trina smiled, waved, and blew him a kiss, and he waved back at her. He lipped the words “I love you” to her, and she did the same. His face returned to Gerald as his explanation was ending.


Gerald: As we begin our preliminaries, I urge you all to be cautious, and enjoy your time in the tournament. Now, if you all will turn to the Jumbotron, we will see who our first combatants will be.


The fighting systems computer choose two opponents at random. The first two names, Andre Ratchford, and Daniel Blake. All of the other fighters returned to the locker room with the exception of Deonta, Diamion and Iris, they stayed at the entrance way to watch Andre's fight. They got themselves ready as the prelims began.
